EARLY YEARS MID 90'S
Where observing landscapes began shaping my vision, where my love for misaligned beauty was born.
Vintage cars, dusty tires, scraped knees.
Dirt under the fingernails, tobacco fields lit as bright as day by the moon.
One night the irrigation system jammed.
The water burst into the room, forcing the window open and drenching me completely in the dead of the night.
I watched my mother cross the field, lit only by the moon's cold blue light. Alone. Slow. Certain.
The moment seemed to stretch into eternity.
That was the night I discovered beauty. And with it, fear and mystery.
That image shaped my cinematic language forever.
EARLY 2000'S THE YEARS OF FORMATION
European Institute of Design. A paper tells me I'm a photographer.
Back and forth between Milan and Turin.
In Milan, I followed Bardo Fabiani through the backstage of the fashion shows for Vogue Italia.
In Turin, I studied Art History. Then back to Rome. Work began, this time for real.
My research grew sharper.
Meeting Martin de Thurah, my mentor, the highest expression of an aesthetic I still pursue, sealed a promise: to follow that path, always.
Since then, clients of every kind have come and gone from advertising to music, through the art world, hand in hand with Sergio Lombardo and Felice Levini.
The common thread behind every commission is the search for that atmosphere, that glow in the field in the dead of night. Soaked, afraid, and in awe.
